Position Overview:
The Production Coordinator supports the Director of Product Development in executing and tracking all aspects of the product development lifecycle. This role ensures that product samples are delivered on time, accurately reflect design intent, and meet quality standards. The Production Coordinator serves as a key liaison between internal teams and external vendors, maintaining clear communication and detailed records throughout each stage of development.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the sample making process across all stages of product development.
- Track and manage the status of samples to meet production timelines and market launch deadlines.
- Attend design meetings to report on development status and communicate necessary updates.
- Organize and track incoming and outgoing sample collections, including those distributed to global sales agents.
- Perform quality control checks on samples and ensure all specifications are met.
- Manage internal feedback and approval tracking for swatches, lab dips, strike-offs, and pre-production samples.
- Assist in the layout and preparation of print artwork and design files.
- Maintain organized asset folders and documentation related to sample development.
- Research and assist in sourcing manufacturers for new product verticals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Creative, Marketing, and Photography.
- Support the fit development process by tracking revisions and communicating changes to vendors.
- Maintain daily communication with overseas and domestic manufacturers to ensure timely updates and resolve issues.
Job Skills:
- 1–3 years of experience in product development, apparel production, or related field
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator/Photoshop) is a plus
- Prior experience working with apparel or consumer goods is preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
- Occasional lifting of sample boxes (up to 25 lbs)
- Ability to handle product materials, samples, and swatches
