Role Overview 

We are seeking an architect with a passion for innovation and a solid foundation in computational design, modular standardization, and component optimization. In this role, you will shape scalable modular systems that meet high standards for efficiency, sustainability, and architectural design. 

This role offers the chance to deliver housing that fits the needs of modern living while fostering a smarter and more sustainable future. You will drive meaningful change by playing a key role in creating homes that prioritize occupant health and well-being, improving builder safety, and drastically shortening the timeline for providing high-quality, attainable homes to communities. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Architect & optimize modular home designs by developing reusable components that reduce complexity and enhance efficiency. 

  • Implement advanced design methodologies to optimize space planning, material use, and production standardization. 

  • Develop a digital design framework using BIM-based workflows, computational modelling, and generative design tools to refine modular layouts. 

  • Establish a component library that supports flexible design variations focused on supporting efficiency in manufacturing. 

  • Balance conceptual and practical aspects of modular design while ensuring homes are aesthetically compelling, streamlined, and cost-effective.  

  • Integrate DfMA principles to standardise offsite construction processes. 

  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and procurement teams to align architectural goals with manufacturing realities. 

  • Stay apprised of industry innovations, including regulatory changes, sustainable materials, and emerging technologies in offsite construction. 

Required Skills & Qualifications 

  • Degree in Architecture (or related field) with modular/offsite construction experience. 

  • Strong conceptual design skills with an ability to translate vision into practical, standardized modular systems. 

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM-based design platforms. 

  • Experience with parametric design software (Grasshopper, Dynamo, Rhino, etc.) for optimizing component use and layouts preferred. 

  • Expertise in developing design libraries and scalable modular systems. 

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing workflows, prefabrication techniques, and material optimization. 

  • Ability to work across disciplines, collaborating with structural engineers, production teams, and supply chain partners. 

  • Knowledge of building codes and regulatory standards for modular homes. 

Preferred Skills 

  • Expertise in design automation and AI-assisted generative design preferred. 

  • Experience with digital twins, data-driven modelling, and advanced visualization techniques nice to have. 

  • Understanding of timber frame and offsite construction methodologies and  

  • HighArc preferred.
